Can a 99 ford explorer engine fit in a 99 ford ranger?

I have a 99 ford ranger that has a blown motor and i found a 99 ford explorer engine and i think a ford ranger and ford explorer are the same. Without changing motor mounts.Can a 99 ford explorer engine fit in a 99 ford ranger?The V6 Ranger in 1999 had the 4.0 SOHC motor. So if your Ranger had a V6 and the Explorer motor is the SOHC V6, then they're identical. I've never swapped motors before though so I couldn't tell you for sure if the mounts are identical, but the engine itself is.Can a 99 ford explorer engine fit in a 99 ford ranger?if they are both V 8s or V 6s it should
