How to remove and clean spark plug for 1997 Ford Escort?

I recently had a engine diagnostic after the "service engine" light came on, and it said cylinders 2, 3 and 4 are misfiring. I thought I could try cleaning the spark plugs and see if that fixes it on my 97 Ford Escort. I googled for the manual and couldn't find any, so wanted to know if someone can help me here.How to remove and clean spark plug for 1997 Ford Escort?Autozone.com still has a Repair Guide for your car, although I can't link you directly to it anymore, like the last time we talked. You have to go there and register, then enter your vehicle info in the profile. Then click "repair info" then "view repair guides". They have most everything you would find in a Haynes or Chilton's Total Car Care manual.

As far as the P0302-P0304 codes you mentioned, they all say the same thing as far as possible causes, in order of probability;

P030(2-4)

Cylinder misfire detected-Cylinder number (2-4)

鈥?The powertrain control module monitors the crankshaft speed and has detected a misfire condition

Probable Cause[s]

1. Ignition system fault-spark plug(s), ignition wires, coil

2. Vacuum leak

3. injector fault

4. high or low fuel pressure

As far as cleaning spark plugs, I do that myself. But then again, I have a sandblaster, which is really the only way to do it well. Wire brushes can't get down in the crevices, and even for the spots they can access, they don't do that good of a job.How to remove and clean spark plug for 1997 Ford Escort?
Replace spark plugs and wires, if you only do plugs there is a 60-70% chance it will still miss, more often than not problem is plug wires are cracked or rubbing somewhere and letting part of spark go to ground instead of getting all of it to plugs.How to remove and clean spark plug for 1997 Ford Escort?all you do is pull 1 wire off at a time, get a 3/8 drive ratchet and a plug socket and take the plug out. i use a wire brush on my plugs. if you go all that bother then why not just put a new set in.How to remove and clean spark plug for 1997 Ford Escort?
You replace spark plugs. You don't clean them.
