I have a 1996 Ford Exploder. I had to replace the engine and the engine I put in is from a 95. I had to use the 95 wiring harness so I am wondering if the computer that was in the 96 will still work or if I will need to find one for a 95 and put in it.Will the computer for a 96 Ford Explorer work for a 95 Explorer engine?IF you had to put a whole new wiring harness in it i would get the one from the 95. the plugs may not line up right, and the computer might be a different one, and not know whats going on even if they do. Just take warn, that even if its a new computer, sometimes cars take a while to run right. Its just that the computer has to have time to learn the engine, it will run, but it should only take a max of 15 mins to get it running correctly. Will the computer for a 96 Ford Explorer work for a 95 Explorer engine?Yes it will work aslong as the engine size is the same,In 95 there was only a 4.0l 6 cyl motor used, in 96 you could have either a 4.0 6 cyl or a 5.0 v8 the harnesses will be similar but the computer is set different for the motor size so for that reason you would have to swap atleast the comp. Will the computer for a 96 Ford Explorer work for a 95 Explorer engine?both of them should interchange. heck i put a computer in my 88 oldsmobile out of a 89 and it works fine. i seriously doubt that they changed in just 1 yr.Will the computer for a 96 Ford Explorer work for a 95 Explorer engine?
vehicles computers were changed in 96 , so it may not work in a 95
