Does the 1997 Ford Explorer come with anchors for carseat installation?

I have a 97 Ford Explorer and I was wondering if anyone knows if this vehicle has the anchors for infant carseat installation? I have looked on the ford website and called the costumer service number, but it was no help!Does the 1997 Ford Explorer come with anchors for carseat installation? No.

The "LATCH" system (Lower Anchors %26amp; Tethers for Child Seats) was not standard in 1997.

However (according to page 101-2 of your owners manual) a built in child seat was an available option %26amp; also a kit is available for child seat anchors.

Only use the tether
