Does anyone know how to replace a power steering pump on a 1998 Ford Taurus?

Also, does anyone know how if I can replace simply the power steering pump pulley on this car or if I have to replace the whole pump?Does anyone know how to replace a power steering pump on a '98 Ford Taurus?Usually the pulley is seperate from the pump. So yes, you can replace just the pulley.Does anyone know how to replace a power steering pump on a '98 Ford Taurus?check howitworks.come it will tell u how to work itDoes anyone know how to replace a power steering pump on a '98 Ford Taurus?first you spring the tensioner back and take off the belt, then unbolt the bracket holding the pump. Go ahead and drain the fluid out of the resorvior before disconnecting the line on the front , it can be messy. An old turkey baster or syphon pump works well. The pulley will have to be pressed off the shaft of the pump, but most parts stores should do it for free if your buying a new pulley or pump. A new pulley runs about 10$ and the pump about 50 -60$. The pumps on those 3.0L aren't know for being very strong so if you already go though the trouble of taking it off you may just want to replace it, plus it will make the vehicle steer smoother. It can help to use a power steering rack and pinion renew additive to lubricate and protect the internals, quiets the whining alot of ford make too. Lucas makes a great product for about 7$.
