Good books?

I'm going on holiday on 19th August and need a few good books to read whilst I'm there. I'm really into page turning thrillers that keep you in suspense to the last page with a few twists along the way! Have read most of Tess Gerritsen's books, Chris Mooney's The Missing and Simon Beckett's Chemistry of Death, now need some more ideas!! Any suggestions?Good books?
Have you tried James Patterson? I read his latest Quickie from beginning to end on our way to upstate NY from NW Ohio a few weeks ago (leaving me nothing to read on the way back). If you haven't tried his before - give that one a shot as well as Honeymoon and Step on a Crack...or you could go back to the beginning of the Alex Cross series (I think the first was Along Came a Spider) or the Women's Murder Club (1st to Die). Also...if you're more into the medical suspense novels (if I recall correctly, that's kinda Tess Gerritsen's area) try Robin Cook. Other authors I like are Jonathan Kellerman, John Sanford, Jeffery Deaver and some others that I can't recall off the top of my head!
Harry Potter series. really good series!!!

James Patterson books are what your are looking for. Some ideal for hols, not too long are, The Honeymoon, Beach Road, The Beach House.
I couldn't recommend two of Khaled Hosseini's books enough - the kite runner %26amp; a thousand splendid suns

my whole family are hooked!

others are the Alexander McCall 'The No1 Ladies Detective' series...also good fabulous books!
try any of john grisham's books. his stories are full of twists, action and mystery. the first i read of his was the partner. another author which is worth a try but not one you'd normally read is jodi picoult. her book my sister's keeper is a tragedy with loads of twists you'd never have guessed. happy reading =D and enjoy your holiday =D
try something different........!

phillip pullman northern light trilogy

vol.1 northern lights

vol.2 subtle knife

vol.3 amber spyglass
all books from jean-christopher grange
Robert Harris. All his thrillers are amazing. If you haven't, try *Fatherland* or *Archangel*.

You're going to have such a good time!
Try Kathy Reichs, Patricia Cornwell or Karin Slaughter's books. You won't be disappointed.
I can 100 percent recommend Harlan Coben's books for holiday reading - believe me you won't even mind if it rains! He has a series of books featuring Mylon Bolitar which are more standard thrillers, but the best books are his one-offs, which are total page turners, such as Tell No One, Fade Away, Gone for Good and Darkest Fear. Give them a try - I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I agree Kathy Reichs is also good, though I've gone off Patricia Cornwell - they tend to be a bit samey. A good female writer of a similar style, but more original, is Carol O'Connell.
Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathon Stroud

Troy trilogy by David Gemmell

Both trilogies are really good books which will make you kepp turing the page.
Try "The Lure" by,Bill Napier.
