Is it okay for a mature 12 year old to watch Criminal Minds?

Okay, before you judge me, I would just like to say that I am a very mature 12 year old. My Dad keeps commenting about how I'm so much like my Mum (it made me laugh :D) as I watch so many crime shows and I'm starting to also read the Tess Gerritsen novels. Sure, some of the cases in Criminal Minds are quite disturbing, but I just watch it for the logic and how all the different TV show teams solve the cases. I already watch NCIS, Numb3rs, Lie to Me, The Mentalist, Bones, Castle, Crossing Jordan, Hawaii Five-0, Rizzoli and Isles, Nikita, Fringe and Alias. Is this wrong? Plesae, PLEASE just don't be harsh.Is it okay for a mature 12 year old to watch Criminal Minds?
I am a 12 year old and also very mature. I love Criminal Minds. I think it is perfectly fine to watch Criminal Minds. Yes, the show can be disturbing at times, but the point is, is that mature kids (likes us,) can handle it much better than most kids. I think it is perfectly fine for a mature kid like you. And people shouldn't judge you because of this. I can tell you are a very mature kid. My parents basically let me watch any show (not bad bad stuff,) but I know you could handle Criminal Minds.



P.S. Another good show that is like Criminal Minds is called "Law and Order SVU" It is just like Criminal Minds, but it talks more about rape and stuff. But my parents let me watch it because I am very mature for my age. I think it is a cool show. Just like all the other shows you have listed.
Don't mean to be rude, but I was "mature" at 12 too. But I watched an episode at my freinds house and couldn't sleep for WEEKS. Thing's like that can still scare you, it doesn't matter if your mature, the other crome show's aren't as scary. So, I suggest you dont watch it!Is it okay for a mature 12 year old to watch Criminal Minds?
I don't see any reason why not, as long as you understand the difference between TV shows and reality.

If there is anything that you see on those shows taht you aren't sure about, make sure you talk about it with your mum and dad though :)

Should be no problem. They don't show a lot of blood and the violence is kept on a moderate level.

I watched quite a few crime shows when i was your age (sounds weird.. that was five years ago, I'm 17 xD) and I wasn't traumatized.Is it okay for a mature 12 year old to watch Criminal Minds?
I believe that if you watch these shows, you should be at a mature level/age.

But if you are not scared by such a thing at 12 years, and are mature enough, then I believe you should watch it.
it doesn't matter how "mature" you are. at a certain age things can be traumatizing to a child.
