The first psychological/medical thriller I ever read was The Surgeon by Tess Gerristen. I loved it and now I have been looking for new books to read that fall into this genre. Are there any authors like Tess Gerritsen out there?
It doesn't really have to be a psychological thriller; anything that can keep you thinking, reading, and captivated is fine with me. And if it can keep me awake at night, even better :]. Nothing that involves mythical creatures like vampires(ugh), zombies, etc.
Thanks for your time ;]What are some good psychological thrillers (books)?
If you like Tess Gerristen's Jane Rizzoli series you very well might like
Kathy Reichs (her books are the basis for the t.v. show "Bones" but don't let that scare you the books are much better.)
Patrica Cornwell
Those two writers both feature a forensic specialist solving various murders from the everyday to the menacing serial killer type.
Sophie Hannah has written some nice psychological thrillers generally revolving around the notion of identity and insanity (whether real or imagined).
Tana French's crime novels are excellent, start with "In The Woods".
Laura Lippman's "Every Secret Thing"

I suggest you read the book Into the Light. Or almost anything by Robert Pattinson, like Thriller and Thriller 2. You can also read Every Patient has a story by Hugh Laurie. It's very intresting and has a lot of medical mysteries.
You can try watching House M.D. It gets you thinking and it's funny. It could also happen in real life because the editor is a real life girl doctor so the whole show seems like it's happening. But it's mysterious and funny at the same time. Because it seems like the patient is fine, then a huge bizzare symptom starts up again.
You can also watch Dr. G Medical Examiner. That show actually happens in real life. She's an actual doctor that does a show. It's really intresting. What are some good psychological thrillers (books)?
The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highmore, especially if you liked the movie. It's not a medical thriller, though, but it is a psychological thriller.
Hmm, The Ghost Writer by Robert Harris is a thriller, though I'm not quite sure if it's classified as a psychological thriller. I really like this book, and the movie, too.
Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane
