One way I find new authors is by going to Amazon, typing in the name of a book I liked, and then viewing the section of "Customers who bought this item also bought."

Another way is to look at who gave reviews for the book I've read. There are reviews on the cover or inside the first few pages. The reviewers are often people who write similar books.

If the books or authors seem appealing, I check out a few of the author's books at the library and then buy them if I like them.Tess Gerritsen, Lee Child, Alex Kava, Karin Slaughter... can you recommend any authors "along those lines"?
What are you looking for? Women authors? You're asking for a very long list of very good writers. If you want mysteries, there's even a longer lineup.
