Is the book "The Surgeon" by Tess Gerritsen a good book?

wat is it about?

should i read it? would u recommend it?Is the book "The Surgeon" by Tess Gerritsen a good book?
One of the best books EVER! I absolutely LOVE IT. It was one of the books that changed my whole reading genre.

It's about Dr. Catherine Cordell, who's had hard past -- she was raped when she worked in Savannah. She's moved to Boston to start her life again, but a series of crimes similar to what happened to her (but now the women are killed) start to happen there, and she sees herself threatened by her past. Police Detective Jane Rizolli is struggling to take command of the case: she's the only woman at the Boston Police Department and the men just won't take seriously.

Agent Thomas Moore is assigned to the case, and something start to happen between him and Catherine. He protects her and cares for her, and it's exactly what she needs at that moment. And, if he ever wants anything to be serious between them, he better well save her damn life. :-)

There are some scenes in the book that will break your heart and give you chills. Some others will make you laugh out loud. Tess Gerritsen gets in the mind of psycho killers like NO ONE else does. Her books are the best psychological thrillers out there.

This book is the first of a series: The Maura Isles/Jane Rizolli series (which I'll recommend to anyone in the world), and, IMO, even though the next books are awesome, none compares to The Surgeon. I know most of it by heart.

Here, of course, is my favorite quote from the book. It's very powerful. (I told you, I'm a huge fan)

"He remembered what Catherine had told him: that every rape victim鈥檚 life was divided into before and after. A sexual assault turns a woman鈥檚 world into a bleak and unfamiliar landscape in which every smile, every bright moment, is tainted with despair."
